... so soon after the Australian Ballet presented Frederick Ashton’s The Dream... MCB do not suffer in the comparison... I think I like this interpretation of Puck much better than Ashton’s... the most refreshing things about MCB is the energy and excitement and joy the dancers display... I recommend it to budding ballet dancers and people who just love dance..

There's magic in these forests...

Melbourne City Ballet offers another Shakespearian classic for audiences in 2017, after the huge success of our touring production of Romeo & Juliet in 2016. Melbourne City Ballet will perform our interpretation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at venues throughout New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and the Northern Territory.

Choreographed by Artistic Director, Michael Pappalardo, audiences will see a range of diverse movement, executed by some of Australia’s most talented artists. This comical tale explores the lives of two couples whose lives are affected by the meddling fairies who live in a mysterious forest.

Choreographer: Michael Pappalardo

Music: Mendelssohn Opus 1 & 2
