ADULT COMMUNITY BALLET CLASSES - Melbourne City Ballet's artists run Community Ballet classes throughout the week catering from beginners to advanced level. A great way to keep fit throughout the year or re-engage with ballet in a quality class.
- Cost: $18 per person (10 passes available for $150). Discount passes can be purchased in advance online through The Shop
- Attire: Standard Ballet or General Fitness Attire
- Enrolment: Not Required. Classes are casual in nature. Simply turn up at the class and pay the teacher at the door.
- Teaching Staff: Artists training or performing with Melbourne City Ballet.
- Who can attend? Classes are designed for anyone 16 years and over. All experience levels welcome!
- Method: There is no syllabus for the classes and are done in an open class manner.
- Audience: For the comfort of our guests and teachers, we do not allow guests to watch community classes.
- Mondays - Beginner 6pm-7:25pm, Intermediate 7:30pm - 9pm
- Thursdays - Intermediate 6pm - 7:25pm, Beginner 7:30pm - 9pm,
- Saturdays - Advanced 10:30am - 11:55am, Beginner 12pm - 1:30pm

INTENSIVE WEEK HOLIDAY PROGRAM
Join Melbourne City Ballet's Staff and Company Artists for a week of intensive classical ballet, contemporary and neoclassical movement. These intensive weeks traditionally take place twice per year during summer and winter breaks. No audition necessary for this program. Details for our 2017 Winter Intensive as follows:
Its back! Melbourne City Ballet's Winter Intensive Week returns in 2017! Get the chance to train with Melbourne City Ballet's Artistic Staff in neoclassical, classical and contemporary technique.
Classes will run from 9am until 4:30pm each day with a small showing at the end of the week. Suitable for 10 years and above from 10th - 14th July 2017.
Early Bird: $390 (until 30th May) or $500.00

JUNIOR EXTENSION PROGRAM AND BOYS CLASS
Melbourne City Ballet's Junior Extension Program offers young dancers from across Victoria a weekly class with the company's Artistic & Performing staff designed to develop their placement and quality.
The classes take place each Saturday afternoon and have a duration of 1.5 hours. Classes are assigned on where a particular dancer will gain the most benefit with scheduled times of
Melbourne City Ballet also offer a male extension class where masculine delivery is focused upon, whilst some immersion with general classes will occur where technically required.

JUNIOR ELITE ARTISTS PROGRAM - INTERSTATE & REGIONAL PROGRAM
Melbourne City Ballet's Junior Interstate Elite Artists Program (JEAP) is specifically designed to provide young dancers with the opportunity to gain experience training with Melbourne city Ballet's Artistic Staff.
The program gives some of the finest dancers the opportunity to experience MCB's training courses for the final two weeks of each term. The course includes work in various areas such as technique, pas de deus, pointe, masculine delivery and repertoire. JEAP prepares young artists for the physical and technical requirements of part or full time ballet training.
Each term finishes with a performance alongside Melbourne city Ballet's Elite and MICA students as part of the MCB Studio Sessions season. JEAP students also have the opportunity to meet company artists, watch full company rehearsals and be mentored by company artists towards careers as classical performers.

Commencing in 2017, the Melbourne Institute of Classical Arts (MICA) is a joint collaboration between Coburg High School & Melbourne City Ballet to provide young dancers (years 7 to 12) with high quality classical and academic training throughout their secondary years.
The course includes subjects such as classical ballet technique, repertoire, contemporary movement, pas de deus, pointe, masculine delivery, acting and character.

ELITE ARTIST PROGRAM - FULL TIME (3 OR 5 DAY COURSE)

- CUA60113 ADVANCED DIPLOMA OF DANCE (ELITE PERFORMANCE).
8 hours x 5 days per week (or 3 days slow pace) with Saturday morning class
Melbourne City Ballet’s Elite Artist Program is designed to provide those young dancers seeking a career as a professional artist to refine their skills over three years in classical ballet and contemporary movement.
Young artists who complete each year of this course successfully will gain accreditation each year until Advanced Diploma Level is reached through an auspice partnership with ATOD RTO #31624.

FINISHING YEAR - MCB'S FINAL BRIDGING PROGRAM.
8 hours x 5 days per week with Saturday morning class
Melbourne City Ballet’s Finishing Year Program provides young artists, who have already completed full time classical training, with an annual training program designed to provide performance experience alongside a professional classical ballet company.
Finishing Year Artists have many performance opportunities throughout the year whilst being provided with company level technical training by the Artistic Director and Senior Artistic Staff.
Graduates from this program are released into the professional industry to seek careers as a classical or contemporary performing artist. Participants within this program may also be selected for positions within Melbourne City Ballet’s professional company.

INTERNATIONAL SUMMER INTENSIVE 2017 - THE DOWN UNDER PROGRAM
Dates: 26th June - 14th July 2017
Melbourne City Ballet's International Summer Intensive will give young dancers the opportunity to work with Melbourne City Ballet's artistic staff and performing artists for 3 weeks during the Northern Hemisphere's summer break. The program focuses on developing classical and contemporary technique, artistic expression and learning the repertoire of the company. Do this while enjoying 3 weeks in Melbourne Australia, seeing the sights under the supervision of Melbourne City Ballet staff and meeting other like minded artists from across the globe. This program is suitable for young artists between 14 - 21 years of age internationally and anyone across Australia.

Melbourne City Ballet works closely with national and international organisations to enhance the learning experience of MCB students and for students from around the world. We have established partnerships with Barkley regional council in the Northern Territory, where we deliver a diverse exchange program both to and from the territory.
